On My Way Home Tonight

Australia claims that Melbourne is in some sort of severe drought and has been for years, but I beg to differ. I arrived on July 4th, more than a month ago, and I am going to guess that it has rained almost everyday since I arrived. Admittedly, the rain for the most part is generally nothing more than mist, but rain none the less. Today it was sunny at 10 am, black skies by noon, hailing and pouring rain by 230 and by 530 on my way home there was clearing skies and a rainbow!

2 things you need to know about Melbourne:
melbourne winter is supposed to consist of endless rainy days, for the majority of winter. From dusk til dawn! We were like the Seattle downunder.
you need to be aware that our dam supply, the water we all use every day, is at about 27 percent and hasn't been above 30ish for the last few years. This is why we're all supposed to be having 4 minute showers etc...the rain we're having is nothing more than a piddle that wouldn't fill anyone's water tank, let alone the city's water supply.
Just be careful because 'drought' is a sensitive subject amongst Aussies because we know our country is really struggling, especially the farms... :)
